Cryo Recovery
– get back from injury, faster
If you’re suffering from a painful injury or nagging back pain, this cold treatment will help restore your body’s natural tissues and get you on the road to full fitness.
Are you side-lined by an injury? A frustrated spectator, desperate to get back in the game? Is your pain lingering, delaying your return?
Well, it doesn’t have to be this way. Because Cryotherapy can help reduce your pain and get you back from injury faster.
It works by targeting the affected area with liquid nitrogen vapour. This reduces the temperature around the injured tissue, which instantly reduces inflammation and swelling – so you could be pain-free within just 1-2 sessions.
How Cryo Recovery works
Cryo Recovery is made up of two treatments: cryotherapy and sports massage.
Cryotherapy helps the body to release oxygen, nutrients and endorphins into the blood stream. This enriches the blood, which in turn:
Stimulates the immune system, to fight off infection
Improves circulation, to heal wounds faster
Speeds recovery, quickly getting you back to fitness
Sports massage manipulates the tissue in your body to encourage movement and reduce stiffness – promoting recovery and reducing the chance of muscle injury.
Of course, no treatment works in isolation. We also recommend traditional recovery methods like RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevate) – and for some injuries, we work in tandem with other practitioners to maximise your recovery.
What happens in a Cryo Recovery session?
It starts with a quick chat, to see if Cryo Recovery is right for you. Then all being well, we’ll invite you in for a physical consultation. Here we’ll get a full history, assess your injury and begin your first treatment.
Oh, and don’t forget to bring a pair of shorts along, so I can assess your body structure.
“Will Cryo Recovery work for me?”
Every client we’ve worked with to date has benefitted in some way from Cryo Recovery. Inevitably though, the treatment benefits some more than others – it often depends on your injury and other factors like the make-up of your body. So we won’t know how this will work for you until after your first treatment.
“After a fall from a galloping horse my knee and ankle were very swollen and sore. I left it a few weeks but the swelling and soreness was still there. My husband researched Cryo Wellbeing and I made an appointment not knowing what to expect.
First session, Andrea was totally professional and took down all the information that she needed. The treatment involved cold air being put on my knee, leg and ankle. It was very pleasant. nothing to worry about. My knee especially was very warm so the cold air was a relief. Andrea then massaged my leg.
When I got off the bench I could straighten my knee (first time in 3 weeks) and the pain had gone. I really couldn’t believe the improvement.
I was going on holidays the following week and wanted to do quite a bit of walking. Therefore I had a second session. This allowed me to do all the walking I wanted to do.
Don’t think twice about having this treatment. I can’t speak more highly of Andrea and Cryo Wellbeing.”
